Pick up a booklet
Ask at the Command Post before you set off. Inside there is a spotter’s list, three name generators and a word search for the walk back.
On the park
Somewhere along The Famous Montgomery Walk there are little doors, tiny houses and wind chimes in the branches. Go quietly and see how many you can find.
How it works
The trail is free, it is out all year, and it takes as long as you want it to.
Ask at the Command Post before you set off. Inside there is a spotter’s list, three name generators and a word search for the walk back.
Little doors, tiny houses and wind chimes are hidden along the way. Go quietly and you will see more of them.
Finished or not, take your booklet back to the Command Post and show someone what you found. There is a prize in it.
Spotter’s bingo
The same nine as the booklet. Tap each one as you find it — the ticks stay on this phone, so you can carry it round the walk.
From the booklet
Your first initial gives the first name, your surname initial gives the last. The booklet has all three tables in full, along with a word search built from them.
Say hello
They wait for visitors at the Fairy Meeting Place, along The Famous Montgomery Walk. Give them a wave, and see whether anyone has left them a present.

Woodland manners
The real residents
Deer, badgers, bats and owls all use these woods. You are unlikely to meet any of them in the middle of the day, but the signs are there if you look down as well as up.

In spring the woodland floor goes over to bluebells. It lasts a few weeks and it is worth timing a stay around.

Autumn brings fungi up through the leaf litter, sometimes in rings. Look, photograph, and leave them where they are.

Not every little door belongs to a fairy. Some of the holes out here were made by birds, and they are somebody’s front door too.
Before you go
Pick one up at the Command Post, or print it at home before you travel. Bring it back either way — finished or not — and there is a prize waiting.
