what3words

We use what3words here at Rockingham Forest Park, here’s what you need to know.

What is what3words.

The world has been divided into 3 metre squares and each square has been given a unique combination of three words.

Street addresses aren’t accurate enough to specify precise locations, and don’t exist for parks and rural areas.

This makes it hard to find places and prevents people from describing exactly where help is needed in an emergency

We fall into this bracket which is why we advise our guests to download the app for ease in finding our location, which is;

How do I use it?

Download the what3words app (this is free to download)

Enter a place name or street address into the search bar and choose the correct result.

Switch to satellite mode and zoom in until you see the grid. Tap on a square to see its what3words address.

Your lodge.

Your lodge will have a what3words location sticker on your gate.

Enter this into the app and your location will be automatically found.

This can aid in providing your location to fellow holidaymakers, or if you need to use it for medical assistance.

How to use what3words in an emergency?

Find the 3-word address for your current location on the what3words app.

Share your 3 word address over the telephone to the call handler.

The emergency service can then coordinate a response directly to the exact location where help is needed.

Our defibrillator location on the park is.
