What a better way to “Blow away the Cobwebs” and welcome in the New Year than with a visit to Rockingham Forest Park.
There are still a few lodges available for the 30th of December but please remember we do not allow fireworks on the park due to the close proximity of the woods, our wildlife and guests bringing their furry friends with them to see in the New Year.
Enjoy all our footpaths around the park whether you like a gentle amble or a hike we have walks for all. So don’t forget to pack your woolly hats gloves and walking boots download the footpath app and wander to one of the local pubs for a spot of lunch or a coffee.
The lakes around the park are particularly beautiful in the winter sunshine with many frozen over. The hoar frost stays for most of the day in the shaded areas glistening in the sunlight. Watch the birds all plumped up to keep out the cold looking for food and the squirrels trying to find where they have hidden their nuts ready for this time of the year.
On a clear morning take a walk to Sessile Lake and watch the sunrise alternatively wrap up warm and watch the sunset from your decking with a warming drink in your hand.
