Rockingham Castle

If you are looking for a touch of history during your stay, then head over to Rockingham Castle. The Castle was built under the instruction of William the conquer in 1066 and it is a fine example of a Norman Castle. It was formally owned by the Crown as Royal Castle and Hunting Lodge however for the last 450 years it has been a family home to the Watson family.  Wander through the fine rooms of the Castle at your own pace, children can take the Eye Spy quiz to keep their attention sharp, learn about the Castle and have fun. There are large formal and informal gardens and plenty of open spaces for children to play in.

Burghley House and Gardens   

Burghley house is one of the largest and grandest surviving houses of the sixteenth century. An Elizabethan English house conceived by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, between 1555 and 1587.  Burghley House boasts a plethora of art collections, furniture, silver, tapestry and porcelain much of which is on display in the state rooms. The perfect day out for all the family enjoy dining in the Orangery restaurant or take a picnic to enjoy in the grounds.

Kings Cliffe Brewery

King’s Cliffe Brewery is a five-barrel microbrewery producing 1,400 delicious pints with every brew, just down the road from Landal Rockingham Forest.  There are currently five permanent beers and seasonal beers occasionally.
