Autumn time is among us

Autumn

As the trees start to shed and create a blanket of leaves on the ground, the nights get darker, and a cool autumn air blows in; Rockingham Forest Park is a place to really embrace all of what the autumn has to offer. If you enjoy snuggling up, big cosy jumpers and long walks we have you covered. A cosy lodge is perfect for staying in with your family, watching movies and drinking tea. We are surrounded by beautiful woodlands; if you enjoy a morning walk, crisp fresh air, and a bed of multicoloured crunchy leaves.

Did you know that the leaves change colour due to lack of Chlorophyll- this is the pigment in the leaves making them green, which stops being released with less exposure to sunlight!

Along with the trees changing, we notice different species of wildlife start poking their noses out, be sure to look out for red squirrels and even red foxes towards the end of the day.

If you’re visiting us here at the park this autumn, be sure to pack your fluffy socks and jumpers. Don’t forget your wellies and umbrellas for the rainier days.
