If you have visited Rockingham Forest Park recently, you will have noticed the flurry of activity on the grey lodge beside the green Hangar.
We are proud to announce ‘The Command Post’ is now open for business. 😊
Oak Lake store has been upgraded to swanky new premises within walking distance of the Lodges, and is now also an inviting Bistro, serving food & drinks. The ever-present warm welcome you have come to know and love awaits you.
The Bistro will continue to be run by our lovely ladies Deb & Ali from the Oak Lake store and you are still able to purchase your essentials and treats from the shop as before.
The Command Post offers an inviting atmosphere with comfortable indoor seating, tables for a catch-up and some food, or armchairs for a relax with a coffee or a glass of wine. The Bistro also has an expansive outdoor decking area to enjoy the views and weather from.
You can eat in and sample the food on offer, ranging from stone-baked pizzas to mouth-watering cakes. Alternatively, you can order food to take away and enjoy in your own Lodge.
Our General Manager Kuljit and Assistant Manager Emily were keen to be the first punters in The Command Post!
They had a good peruse and made some delicious choices! 😉
The Command Post’s first wave of holidaymakers chose some delicious take-away pizzas and wasn’t disappointed!
You may be wondering why we chose to call it The Command Post. Our General Manager carried out some research on armed force-related names and came across some interesting choices for the RAF. As we used to be a former Royal Air Force satellite station known as RAF Kings Cliffe and to pay homage to those who once served; the GM, Assistant Manager, and the MD chose The Command Post.
Here is our lovely Deb slaving over a hot stove making her first Hawaiian pizza and a Pepperoni with a hint of spice!

*Deb & Ali can cater to any lactose/dairy-free needs. A member of our maintenance team chose the ‘free from’ pepperoni pizza and gave it a big tomato saucy thumbs up!*
Why not come and check it out, they will offer lunch and dinner items, as well as coffee, cake, drinks, and even some fabulous cocktails 😊
