Hi, my name is Debbie and I perform the Quality Control job here at Rockingham Forest Park.

My day starts at 11.00am where I head to reception and check in with the bosses and lovely ladies in reception.  They fill me in on any special instructions, bed set-up, pets, special requests, then myself and the paperwork are off in Eve, (our park work van, wave if you see her) 😉

My first port of call is housekeeping to see Mel or Debbie to go through the days list, make sure we have corresponding information, and that all our i’s are dotted, and our t’s are crossed.

The team will let me know if there is anything I need to specifically check and which teams are cleaning which lodges, this makes it easy for me to find staff if minor corrections need to be made.

I am blessed that my job is made easier by working with such a fantastic housekeeping and maintenance crew.  Every-body knows what they are meant to be doing which makes it run seamlessly.

I enter each lodge that will be occupied this check-in and ensure inventory is correct, beds are made as requested, and the lodge has been cleaned to our very high standards.  Any maintenance issues, which can range from a missing toggle on the blind to a fridge needing replacing, will be reported.  This all keeps me very busy!

Once all jobs and maintenance requests have been completed, I will have one last check and leave you a welcome card to sign that lodge off as ready for check-in.

Making my way around the lodges that are booked, liaising with housekeeping and maintenance, not to mention keeping reception up to date with my progress, is quite the juggling act.

Here at Rockingham Forest Park we do our very best to ensure lodges are ready for the 4 – 6pm check-in time, and that the park is clear of housekeeping and maintenance crews.  Some days run smoother than others and we delight in exceeding customer expectations by being ready earlier where we can.

I love my job, it is hard work and keeps me very busy, but I find it so rewarding and get to work with a great team 😊
